Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool asks for gender, date of birth, general health status, tobacco use, desired coverage amount and preferred term length. These six answers provide enough information to return carrier rates. Personal details like your name, address and medical history are only requested if you choose to proceed with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The monthly rates shown are what each carrier quotes for the health class you indicate. Your final premium depends on the carrier's underwriting decision, which may confirm, improve or adjust your health class. Nothing displayed here constitutes an insurance offer or a guarantee of any specific price.
What happens when I click Apply?
Selecting Apply allows you to provide your name, which is then used to populate a secure online application with your answers from the quote tool. The application continues on the carriers' platform and is managed by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129). You can pause and return to your application at any time.
Will I need a medical exam?
That varies by carrier, coverage amount and your medical history. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants within certain age and coverage limits, allowing approval without a medical exam. Each quote displayed shows whether an exam is required, possibly required or not necessary for that particular product.
Is a longer term better?
The right term depends on your family obligations. A 20- or 30-year term typically covers the years when dependent children, a mortgage or business loans create real financial vulnerability for your family. Longer terms lock in lower monthly rates, while shorter terms cost less per month. The quote tool lets you compare costs across 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year options from every carrier.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool collects only your responses to six health and coverage questions, which are not stored by this site. We do not sell or share personal information, we do not use advertising trackers, and our traffic measurement is privacy-first and cookieless. Read the privacy page for a complete accounting of what is collected and by whom.
